Thank you for these insights Ross. My favorite one is -VP of Product at Netflix Gibson Biddle describes the role of product as well - “delighting customers in hard-to-copy, margin-enhancing ways”.
Solid insights as well! Something that has struck me recently having switched from product mgmt to GRC is how we are still aligning with the business on overall objectives like you discuss-using risk and other factors to prioritize spending/projects and help the business determine risks and opportunities related to their objectives. Just like pm’s have a roadmap of features we have a roadmap of projects etc we went to get done as well! Often I think security is viewed as the dept that slows things down or says no when they can be crucial partners in planning processes and strategy and are often left out until the end.
100%. I'd imagine we'll be seeing it more and more when security works with organizations, not against them. You can't secure a business if you don't care about the mechanics of that business, or how the company makes money, or how a sales or operations team does their job. Great addition, Lesley!

Thanks Richard! Gibson is great; he does lots of speaking now and there are some fantastic workshops of his on YouTube.
